Jaguars' Ross Matiscik Becomes Jacksonville's First First-Team All-Pro Since 2017

Jacksonville Jaguars long-snapper Ross Matiscik was named an Associated Press first-team All-Pro on Friday, making him the first Jaguars player to earn the honor since Jalen Ramsey and Calais Campbell in 2017. 

Matiscik was also named to the Pro Bowl earlier this month, while also earning NFLPA first-team All-Pro honors.

Matiscik is the eighth first-team All-Pro in Jaguars history, joining Tony Boselli, Bryan Barker, Kevin Hardy, Rashean Mathis, Maurice Jones-Drew, Campbell, and Ramsey. Matiscik is the first Jaguars' long snapper to ever earn the honor and is the second Jaguars special teamer to do so, joining Barker.

Matiscik led the Jaguars in special teams tackles this year, led all long snappers in tackles and was the only long snapper to force and recover a fumble, doing so in a Week 11 win vs. the Tennessee Titans.

Ross specifically, just the accuracy on his snaps, his willingness and desire, running down the field, he caused a fumble last time," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said last week. "His tackling and things of that nature, it stands out when other teams are watching and looking, other players are looking. He stands out, so it’s a credit to him and his effort.”
