Jaguars receive huge boost ahead of Panthers game
Corey Perrine / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the middle of a four-game skid and star quarterback Trevor Lawrence has already been ruled out ahead of Week 17's matchup agains the Carolina Panthers, so, things aren't looking so great as the team continues to try and fight its way toward a second-straight AFC South title.

The Jags offense received some good news on Saturday when starting left tackle, Cam Robinson, was activated off IR and added back on the active roster. He will play against the Panthers after missing the last four games with a knee injury he suffered in the first quarter of the team's Week 12 matchup against the Houston Texans.

Robinson has had a rollercoaster of a season, starting with a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performing enhancing drug (PED) policy. However, he's played pretty well when he's been on the field.

The Jaguars are going to need that this week as they face off against Brian Burns, one of the top pass rushers in the league. The rest of the Panthers pass rush isn't very formidable, evidenced by their dead-last total of 21 sacks on the year. They're also dead-last in pressure rate (16.2%), despite blitzing at a 29.4% rate.

The hope is Robinson can help the team erase the four-game skid it's currently on. Is it a coincidence that the Jags have lost every game since he was put on IR?

Probably so. But either way, the Jags have to win this game, so Robinson's return is a major boost that certainly helps them get closer to said win.
