'I’ve been waiting for this..' Julian Edelman gets ‘revenge’ on Bill Belichick by taking hilarious shot at former Patriots coach’s current job status

Julian Edelman does the best Bill Belichick impression. It wouldn’t have been possible if he had not played under him for 12 seasons.

During those dozen years donning the New England Patriots jersey, Edelman had to go through a lot of tough love from coach Belichick. He only had a platform to let everything out. And he did on Sunday night at The Greatest Roast of All Time by Netflix.

Edelman highlighted a story that he has narrated several times on various podcasts and shows. It was about how Belichick would treat players if they made a mistake. His go-to line would be that a high schooler would do a better job.

You remember when you used to yell at us? 'Look as**oles the fuc**** kids down at Foxborough High can make that fuc**** play. Julian Edelman said on the microphone

Now here comes the roast. The 37-year-old took a deep breath to prepare himself because he had been waiting to get it off his chest for a long time.

I've been waiting for this for so long--Look as***e Foxborough High is the only job offer you fuc**** had! Julian Edelman said

The entire room, including Bill Belichick, burst out laughing at the backhanded joke. Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Randy Moss were sitting close by and were witnesses to all the Patriots players went through during their playing days. So their giddiness was the most genuine.

The Patriots weren’t the only job he had, however. Before accepting Robert Kraft’s offer and agreeing to the head coach’s post, the 72-year-old had already won two Super Bowls. From 1979 to 1990, he was part of the New York Giants set-up that won a couple of rings.

Julian Edelman highlighted Bill Belichick’s unsuccessful job hunting

The roast wasn’t over just yet. Edelman needed the cherry on top of his grand finale. And what better subject to bring up than Belichick’s recent struggles?

Do your job! More like need a job! Julian Edelman said after signaling everyone to settle down

Instead of clapping, the room was filled with ‘oohhs and aahhs’ from the crowd.

Following the departure of Tom Brady in 2020, the Patriots faced difficulties in the quarterback spot. Despite drafting Alabama’s Mac Jones, the slump continued, and last season, the Patriots mutually parted ways with Belichick.

Even though he interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons and the Washington Commanders, neither of them selected him as their head coach. Recently, shocking news surfaced. An insider revealed that Robert Kraft advised Falcons owner Arthur Blank not to appoint Belichick.
