Harrison Smith was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday and the conversation was 80% dude talk and 20% football. Obviously, the non-football stuff was far more interesting, especially since the entire 21-minute interview talked nothing about this week's showdown between the Vikings and Chiefs.

We'll start with the football and then get to the drinking urine part of the story. Here's what Smith said when McAfee asked if it feels like the football gods are against the Vikings this year.

"Sometimes it feels like that but I'd say the main difference is the turnover differential. Not making enough on defense, not holding onto it as well as we should in those early games, special teams, offense, so we're working to correct that."

Now to the bodily fluids portion of the story...

"I haven't drank my p*** yet," Smith said after McAfee joked about A.J. Hawk drinking his own urine while he played in the NFL. "I do some weird stretching stuff now, for sure. I saw some such Ichiro used to do, kind of open your body up on almost like a medieval [inaudible] device."

For the record, we don't know if Hawk actually drank his own urine. The backstory comes from McAfee at the ESPYs saying about Hawk drank his own urine every day during his NFL career with the Packers.

Smith says he has two of his medieval stretching devices and "everyone that sees them are like 'What are you doing?'"

Here's Smith on his current hairstyle.

"Yeah, it was a little longer so I'm trying to grow it back."

Midway through the interview, at precisely 1:18 p.m. CT, the national emergency alert hit Smith's phone – and every other device in the country – and the show muted Smith's microphone to avoid being fined.

"We muted him. We muted you because we've been told that we'll get like a multiple hundred-thousand-dollar fine if that thing makes its way through our microphones," McAfee explained. "Happy to hear your phone's working. You'll be safe if an alien invasion happens or something like that."

Also, perhaps you've noticed, Smith is white. That prompted a question from McAfee's crew about whether Smith considers himself the greatest white safety in NFL history.

"No, I can't stake that claim mostly because I wear Paul Krause's number with the Vikings. He had 81 picks. I don't think that will ever get broken, that record," said Smith.

Then came the white jokes...

"Those first couple years there was a milk check on old Hitman on a regular basis. You gotta prove yourself.," McAfee said. Milk check? That's the term Bills QB Josh Allen made famous when talking to McAfee about targeting white players on defense.

"There was a time where we had two white safeties, with Andrew Sendejo and myself," Smith responded, recalling his time playing alongside Sendejo from 2011-19.

"We were always like, 'Why don't people just bomb it on us?'"
