Green Bay Packers’ 90-man depth chart projection
Kareem Elgazzar/The Enquirer-USA TODAY NETWORK

Now that the draft is over and the undrafted signings have been announced, it’s easier to have a clear picture of where the Green Bay Packers’ roster is. Let’s analyze, position by position, how the depth chart is entering the offseason and going into training camp.

Quarterbacks

  • Jordan Love
  • Sean Clifford
  • Michael Pratt
  • Alex McGough

Love is obviously the starter, and McGough will probably be a camp arm since the Packers drafted two quarterbacks in the last two years. Clifford is QB2 at this point, but Pratt has a real shot at overtaking him.

Running backs

  • Josh Jacobs
  • AJ Dillon
  • MarShawn Lloyd
  • Emanuel Wilson
  • Ellis Merriweather
  • Jarveon Howard

After signing a four-year, $48 million contract, Josh Jacobs is obviously the starter. But after that, everything is open. Third-round rookie MarShawn Lloyd will have a chance to overtake AJ Dillon, and even Emanuel Wilson has to fight for his roster spot.

Wide receivers

  • Christian Watson
  • Romeo Doubs
  • Jayden Reed
  • Dontayvion Wicks
  • Bo Melton
  • Malik Heath
  • Grant DuBose
  • Samori Toure
  • Thyrick Pitts

The Packers haven't added any wide receivers in free agency, draft, or undrafted free agency. The only name you probably don't know is Thyrick Pitts, who finished the season on the practice squad alongside Grant DuBose. The group has depth, and the four first names are locks. Bo Melton is probably secure too, and now the questions are how many receivers will be on the roster and which of them will complement the big 5.

Tight ends

  • Luke Musgrave
  • Tucker Kraft
  • Ben Sims
  • Tyler Davis
  • Joel Wilson
  • Messiah Swinson

The two second-year players complement each other so well in terms of style that they will probably split reps. Musgrave began his rookie season as the starter, but when he came back from injury, Kraft played more snaps. It will be a fun battle. Ben Sims for the offense and Tyler Davis for special teams are interesting role players.

Offensive line

  • Rasheed Walker
  • Elgton Jenkins
  • Josh Myers
  • Jordan Morgan
  • Zach Tom
  • Andre Dillard
  • Sean Rhyan
  • Jacob Monk
  • Royce Newman
  • Caleb Jones
  • Travis Glover
  • Donovan Jennings
  • Trente Jones
  • Luke Tenuta
  • Kadeem Telfort

The Packers added Dillard, three draft picks and two undrafted free agents to the group over the last few weeks, so the depth is in a much better shape. But the nature of rookies getting into the NFL makes it hard to predict who will start and who will play where along the offensive line.

Interior defensive line

  • Kenny Clark
  • Devonte Wyatt
  • TJ Slaton
  • Karl Brooks
  • Colby Wooden
  • Jonathan Ford
  • James Ester
  • Rodney Matthews

With a system that prioritizes affecting the opposing quarterback, there's a good chance that Wyatt finally surpasses Slaton to be a full-time starter. Clark is going into the last year of his deal and the Packers didn't draft anyone at the position, so they added two UDFAs to fight for at least a practice squad spot.

Edge defenders

  • Rashan Gary
  • Preston Smith
  • Lukas Van Ness
  • Kingsley Enagbare
  • Brenton Cox Jr.
  • Keshawn Banks
  • Arron Mosby
  • Deslin Alexandre
  • Deandre Johnson
  • Kenneth Odumegwu

That's a room full of bodies, even though the Packers didn't add draft picks at the position. The fact that Kingsley Enagbare didn't suffer a full ACL tear is a good sign, and he might be ready to play in week 1 as a rotational edge. After the top 4, everyone will fight for a fifth roster spot and the PS jobs. Kenneth Odumegwu is under contract via the International Pathway Program, so he doesn't count against the 90-man roster limit — nor against the 16-man PS limit during the regular season.

Linebackers

  • Quay Walker
  • Edgerrin Cooper
  • Isaiah McDuffie
  • Ty'Ron Hopper
  • Eric Wilson
  • Kristian Welch
  • Christian Young
  • Ralen Goforth

Walker and Cooper will probably be the main starters, even though they had similar playing styles. McDuffie is the primary middle linebacker and should play in base defense. Ty'Ron Hopper is more of a role player and developmental type, while Eric Wilson and Kristian Welch fight for the last roster spot based on special teams contributions.

Cornerbacks

  • Jaire Alexander
  • Eric Stokes
  • Carrington Valentine
  • Keisean Nixon
  • Corey Ballentine
  • Kalen King
  • Robert Rochell
  • Zyon Gilbert
  • Anthony Johnson
  • Gemon Green

The Packers surprisingly didn't add a cornerback until the seventh round of the draft, but Kalen King wasn't expected to be there, so he has a shot at making the team. Overall, the Packers feel confident in their pieces. The most intriguing topic to follow is who will start opposite Jaire Alexander, with Eric Stokes and Carrington Valentine as the main options.

Safeties

  • Xavier McKinney
  • Javon Bullard
  • Evan Williams
  • Kitan Oladapo
  • Anthony Johnson Jr.
  • Benny Sapp III
  • Zayne Anderson
  • Tyler Coyle

The Packers drafted three safeties, so now the room is crowded. Anthony Johnson Jr., who was a presumed starter, is now fighting for a roster spot. Big-time free agent addition Xavier McKinney is the main piece, and the young guys will fight for specific roles behind him.

Kicker

  • Anders Carlson
  • Greg Joseph
  • Jack Podlesny

It's pretty rare to have three kickers on the roster at the same time, which indicates the Packers are not happy whatsoever with Carlson's performance last year. He still is in the front seat to keep the job, but the competition with veteran Greg Joseph is real. Podlesny is an outsider, and let's see until when Brian Gutekunst will carry all of them.

Punter

  • Daniel Whelan

Whelan is cheap and was an average starter last year, so there is no reason to move in another direction. He is the only special teamer who goes into the offseason without competition.

Long snappers

  • Matthew Orzech
  • Peter Bowden

The Packers signed Orzech to a three-year deal last offseason in hopes he would solve their issues, but Orzech was a below average long snapper. Therefore, undrafted rookie Peter Bowden, from Wisconsin, will have a real shot to overtake him.
