Frogs in the Pros: Four Horned Frogs in Super Bowl 58
USA TODAY Sports

Twenty-three Horned Frogs have had the honor of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. There have been 12 different players in the last 17 seasons that have won a ring, and TCU has had at least one player in the Super Bowl in ten of the last 11 years.

This year, four former TCU players will be on the biggest stage in Las Vegas. Offensive tackle Lucas Niang is looking for his second consecutive ring with the Chiefs. Niang has played in 14 games this season for Kansas City. In his time in Fort Worth, he was an all-Big 12 selection in 2018 and did not allow a sack in his final two years.

On the 49ers side are offensive lineman Matt Pryor, cornerback Jason Verrett, and linebacker Dee Winters. This is Pryor's first season with San Francisco and appeared in 15 games this season. He was a team captain for the Horned Frogs and was a Second-Team All-Big 12 selection his senior year. Verrett won Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 for TCU. Winters recorded ten tackles in his rookie year for the 49ers and was a massive part of this TCU defense that made it to the CFP championship.

Super Bowl 58 will kick off on Sunday, February 11th, at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders. The game starts at 5:30 p.m. C.T. on CBS.
