Free-agent receiver John Brown lists Steelers, Colts as possible landing spots

After being cut by the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday, receiver John Brown mentioned the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts as potential landing spots in free agency.

"It depends who needs receivers," Brown said in an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Big Ben [Roethlisberger] is definitely good with the deep ball, and the Indianapolis Colts, the way they use T.Y. Hilton. When we played those guys in the playoffs last year I walked off and I'm like, this team, they're up and coming, they're going to be a problem in the next few years."

Brown could be a conceivable fit for either of those teams, as both should have a need at wide receiver for the upcoming season. The Steelers are not expected to re-sign JuJu Smith-Schuester, while the Colts may be losing Hilton to free agency as well.

As a free agent, Brown should generate a healthy amount of interest from teams. The 30-year-old is not an elite receiver but, when healthy, he has proven to be a reliable target. In 2019, he had perhaps the best season of his career in Buffalo, catching 72 passes for 1,060 yards and six touchdowns. However, last season, he struggled to stay on the field, missing almost half the season due to injury.
