Former Steelers LB predicts team's next signing

The Steelers have completely rebuilt their inside linebacker room this offseason and one of the team's former linebackers doesn't think Pittsburgh is done adding to the new-look group either.

The United States Football League wrapped up its season on Saturday with the Birmingham Stallions defeating the Pittsburgh Maulers in the championship game.

Former first-round pick LB Reuben Foster played for the Maulers and former Steelers LB Vince Williams doesn't think we've seen the last of Foster in a Pittsburgh uniform.

"Yeah he's going to end up playing for the other Pittsburgh football team," Williams tweeted.

Although Foster didn't finish his first season in the USFL the way he hoped, he still had a solid season and proved he still has plenty left in the tank. The 29-year-old had 53 tackles, one interception and 0.5 sacks while showing off his athleticism that once made him a first-round pick in the NFL.

Foster was drafted by the 49ers in the 2017 NFL Draft and spent some time with Washington as well. However, injuries and off-the-field issues deterred his professional career.

Pittsburgh has already signed linebackers Cole Holcomb, Elandon Roberts, Nick Kwiatkoski and Tanner Muse. But adding Foster would make sense as the Steelers are still missing an athletic linebacker.

Foster would not be guaranteed a spot on the 53-man roster and still must prove himself in training camp, but he's certainly done enough to make an NFL roster this summer as he hopes for his second chance in the league.

It would be a low-risk, high-reward signing for Pittsburgh. So, why not?
