For the First Time Ever, the Bears Are a Destination Thanks to Their QB... Justin Fields
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

When have the Chicago Bears ever been a team that players want to play for because of their quarterback? With Justin Fields as QB1, that is now the case and players aren't afraid to admit it.

When players get to free agency in the NFL, money is always a driving force when making a decision on where to play. However, there are plenty of other factors that are considered. Destination, chance to win, and how an organization treats their players are all reasons players consider when choosing their next team. That said, certain players can be so electric that others want to join them. With that in mind, when was the last time the Chicago Bears were a destination because of... their quarterback?

Did you answer "never"? That's fair, because that's probably the correct answer. However, in 2023, that is no longer the case. Players actually WANT to join Justin Fields in Chicago due to his dynamic nature as a playmaker.

On Thursday, the latest additions made by the Chicago Bears, along with GM Ryan Poles, spoke to the media for the first time. Both Tremaine Edmunds and DeMarcus Walker said Justin Fields was a reason for joining the team.

The hype is real. Players now want to come to the Bears. They want to play with Justin Fields and they want to be a part of something special in the Windy City. It appears Ryan Poles has one of the best negotiating chips around. Not only does he have plenty of cap space and vacancies to fill, he also has an exciting, young quarterback that players want to play with and play for. Hell, even new guard Nate Davis said he's a guy that linemen want to block for

Now is the time. The Chicago Bears can proudly say they have a player and quarterback that veterans want to play with and play for. Justin Fields is starting to generate more buzz than any player has for the Chicago Bears in the last 20+ years. He is him. He is a guy that will help the Bears get better via his own ability and the desire of proven vets wanting to join him.
