Fans may have to wait a bit longer than expected to watch Kyler Murray
Brent Skeen-USA TODAY Sports

So far this season, the biggest story for the Cardinals has arguably been off the football field regarding their starting “franchise” quarterback, Kyler Murray.

After tearing his ACL last December, the Cardinals have lost seven straight and have used four different quarterbacks.

Kyler Murray then started the 2023 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which meant he would be sidelined until at least Week 5.

But, now, based on the latest remarks from HC Jonathan Gannon, Murray’s return does not seem to be coming anytime soon.

Ahead of the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Cowboys, Gannon stated, “We know the timetable of when he can return to play, but that doesn’t mean that’s when he’s going to return to play.”

In the press conference, Gannon noted that it will take multiple weeks for Kyler Murray to prepare once he is elevated off the PUP list.

So in other terms, the Cardinals are in no hurry to get their former #1 overall pick back onto the football field.
