Ex-Cowboy Marcus Spears rips Dak Prescott for reportedly hosting gathering at his house

Dak Prescott found himself at the center of some controversial headlines over the weekend when word surfaced that he reportedly hosted a gathering with several people at his home in Texas, and former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marcus Spears believes the quarterback made a “stupid” decision.

Appearing on ESPN’s “First Take” on Monday, Spears ripped Prescott over the reports that the quarterback hosted a birthday party for a friend and had roughly 30 people at his home.

“This is just dumb. It’s dumb and it’s totally disrespectful with what we have going on right now in this country,” Spears said. “That’s entirely who my mind goes to, is the people (healthcare workers) who are gonna have to take care of these dummies that won’t follow the guidelines that are being put out there.”

A person close to Prescott says the quarterback was not in violation of any social distancing guidelines and did not have more than 10 people at his home. Police confirmed they were called to the home over reports of a “party,” but they simply reminded the people at the home of the CDC guidelines and left.

A lot of younger people have been criticized for blowing off guidelines and local mandates because the coronavirus poses less of a risk to them. Prescott is not the first NFL player who has come under fire for it.
