Drew Lock Describes 'Emotional' Feeling vs. Eagles
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks' playoff hopes are still alive after Drew Lock led a game-winning drive against the reeling Philadelphia Eagles to win 20-17 at Lumen Field.

In a game that didn't feature too many highlights, it wasn't until Lock got the ball with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter that things got interesting.

Lock, in just his second start of the season, led a 10-play, 92-yard touchdown drive to heap more misery onto an Eagles team that seems to have imploded in the aftermath.

But what are Lock's thoughts on that game-winning drive?

"Thousands of things," Lock said. "We'd be here all night to talk about them all. I think it was just the over-the-top feeling of you don't get very many opportunities in this league. With every opportunity you get, you need to be as ready as you can be because you don't get a ton of them.

"For us to come out tonight and play the way we did and get a win, one of two opportunities I had this year to start, I was excited. I was emotional. I was emotional for myself, but I was emotional for these guys in this locker room. It's been a rough couple weeks. We needed a win to pull us back, get our spirits back up. That's what we did here tonight as a team. We did it as a team."

The Seahawks were on a four-game losing streak and in danger of seeing their once-promising season fall by the wayside. But at home, and against an Eagles team that has proven to be vulnerable, Seattle got down to business.

Lock would hit receiver DK Metcalf for 18 and 34-yard gains before the 29-yard touchdown strike to Jaxon Smith-Njigba put the Seahawks in the lead for good with 28 seconds left.

With their playoff lives on the line and with a backup quarterback driving the length of the field to secure the win, there was no doubt a range of emotions, particularly from head coach Pete Carroll, who was fired up during his locker room speech post-game.

When he fronted the media, Carroll was asked what his message to the team was, and such was the emotion of the victory, he was in a daze.

"I don't know," Carroll said with his hat on backward. "I was kind of out of my mind in there. I really can't recall."

It was a great night for the Seahawks and while they will no doubt enjoy the win, Lock finally had the moment that he had been waiting so long for, which is perhaps the most enjoyable part of Seattle's seventh win of the year.
