Does Jets QB Zach Wilson think he let his defense down in loss to Patriots?

On Sunday, New York Jets suffered a heartbreaking 10-3 loss to AFC East foe, the New England Patriots, thanks to a last-second punt return for a touchdown by Marcus Jones.

Special teams blunder or not, The Jets' struggles on Sunday are tied directly to an abysmal performance from second-year quarterback Zach Wilson.

While accountability can be challenging for a young player, it appears that Wilson still has much to learn about being a starting quarterback in the NFL. During the postgame press conference, SNY's Connor Hughes asked Wilson if he felt like he let his defense down after finishing 9-of-22 for 77 yards. Wilson's response isn't likely to elicit much confidence from the locker room or the Jets' faithful.

Wilson's lackluster play has been an issue all season. The 23-year-old has thrown for only 1,279 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions in seven starts and boasts the NFL's worst completion percentage among starters at 55.6.

Following Sunday's loss, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that he isn't yet ready to make a change at quarterback despite Wilson's dismal play, saying it's "the farthest thing on my mind" before giving Wilson a vote of confidence.
