DeSean Jackson picks the Chiefs to beat the Ravens because NFL wants to see Taylor Swift in the Super Bowl
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs will play their sixth consecutive AFC Championship game this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. They have already been to three Super Bowls, winning two of them. The Chiefs are the gold standard of the NFL and another Super Bowl ring will firmly establish them as the league’s modern day dynasty. This will be their first ring under the Taylor Swift era.

The pop star has been dating the Chiefs’ TE Travis Kelce since the beginning of the season. Their relationship has been a hot topic in the media and it has also benefitted the league’s popularity. As a result of that, a lot of people believe that the league might want to see Swift and the Chiefs in the Super Bowl this season.

Former Philadelphia Eagles’ receiver DeSean Jackson is one of them. While appearing on the Kay Adams Up & Adams show, Jackson picked the Chiefs to win the conference championship game on Sunday.

Jackson said:

It's hard to pick against [Patrick] Mahomes and Andy Reid, for one . For two, I think like... Taylor Swift, there's a lot about Taylor Swift. [The NFL] are going to want her to be in the Super Bowl... My gut is telling me they want Taylor Swift to be up there so they can show her like 20 times a game. DeSean Jackson said

Swift has already attended multiple Chiefs games this season. Her latest appearance came during the Chiefs’ Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. It became the most-viewed Divisional Round game in NFL history with more than 50 million views. Swift’s presence was definitely one of the major reasons for that.

Patrick Mahomes’ dad joked about not sitting with Taylor Swift during the Chiefs’ AFC Championship game

The Kansas City Chiefs will visit Baltimore this Sunday to take on the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game. This will be their first road championship game under the Patrick Mahomes era and they will get as much support as they can from the players’ families.

However, Mahomes’ father, Pat Mahomes Sr. won’t sit with Taylor Swift and Jason Kelce , who will be in the stadium to support Travis Kelce. He was asked in a recent interview on WFAN Sports Radio’s ‘Evan & Tiki’ show whether he expects to be seated with the pop star. “I hope not,” the senior Mahomes joked.

He further continued:

No, I don’t think so. Travis normally has his own thing and Patrick has his own deal too. … I imagine if Taylor wants her own suite, she’s got enough money to get whichever one she wants. Mahomes Sr. added

The Chiefs will hope to advance to their fourth Super Bowl in five years with a win on Sunday. The Ravens on the other hand have been the best team in the league this season and will pose a huge challenge for the Chiefs.
