D'Andre Swift somehow scores TD on Commanders untouched after falling
Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

Detroit Lions running back D’Andre Swift entered Sunday’s game hobbled with an ankle injury. Yet, the Washington Commanders had no answer for him, not even when he fell.

Swift scored a touchdown on a ridiculous play in the third quarter on 3rd-and-15 that dashed the hopes of Commanders.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff felt the rush from the Commanders’ defense before dumping the football to Swift. Goff’s pass was flat, forcing Swift to sprawl to the turf to secure the catch. However, with no Commanders defender nearby, Swift got up and made a mad dash to the end zone untouched for a 22-yard touchdown.

The score was a backbreaker for Washington. The Commanders had rallied from 22-0 down to get within a touchdown at 22-15. But, the Lions answered in the most demeaning fashion, extending their lead to two scores on their way to a 36-27 win over Washington.
