Damar Hamlin Shows Off New Tattoo One Year After Incident

It's not lost on Hamlin how lucky he was to come out of that situation alive and well, and on the first anniversary of said situation, he decided to get a permanent reminder of his gratitude. 

On Tuesday, one year to the day since the incident, Hamlin revealed that he got a commemorative tattoo at Till The End Tattoos in Miami. The tattoo depicts Hamlin's now-iconic "heart hands" sign with a heart rate monitor in the center.

At the same time, Hamlin also took the anniversary to thank those who have supported him with a special message on his GoFundMe page.

"One of the things that has inspired me most is the real-life stories of people who were inspired to be CPR trained because of my experience, then turned around and saved the life of another this year," Hamlin wrote. "It’s a blessing to be a blessing, and I’m so grateful to have this platform to give back to others, like people have done for me growing up."

After making the Bills' 53-man roster, Hamlin has appeared in five games this season while playing 17 defensive snaps and 94 special teams snaps. Although he hasn't appeared too often, Hamlin still being around is undoubtedly huge for team morale.

Hamlin and the Bills will conclude the regular season against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night, a game that will decide the AFC East winner.
