Dalvin Cook speaks on just what convinced him to sign with Ravens
Kevin R. Wexler / USA TODAY NETWORK

Dalvin Cook signed with the Baltimore Ravens last week. Cook agreed to join the Ravens’ practice squad.

Cook was linked with a few teams after he parted ways with the New York Jets, but in the end, he decided to take his talents to the Ravens for a few reasons.

"It presents everything," Cook said on Thursday. "Obviously, the situation speaks for itself. These guys put in the work to have the first-round bye, to be sitting at the No. 1 seed. So, for me, just come in and give everything I've got. These guys put the hard work in already, so, for me, lay it all on the line for these guys. They did the dirty work, so now it’s time for me to just go help these guys any way I can.

“So, for me, it’s a new breath of air, for me, new opportunity, a great opportunity, and I'm loving it.”

Cook also noted that the Ravens were not the “only opportunity” for him after he went unclaimed on waivers, but he could not pass up the opportunity to share the field with the likes of Lamar Jackson and Zay Flowers.

Cook is just coming off of a lackluster run with the Jets. The four-time Pro Bowler played in 15 regular season games played with the AFC East side, and he tallied career lows in several stats, including in yards from scrimmage (292).

Cook featured in the Ravens’ first two practice sessions this week.
