Dallas Cowboys Extend Defensive Player For 2 Seasons
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys extend a safety

The Dallas Cowboys had one of the more exciting defenses in the league last season, and they’ll look to continue their success in 2023 with the aid of their safety. The Cowboys finished in the top half of the NFL for yards given up and fifth for points given up per game during the 2022 regular season.

Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was eager to come back next fall to coach the defense. He’ll have one of his better players on the roster.

According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Cowboys are agreed to re-sign safety Donovan Wilson. The deal is for three seasons and could be worth up to $24 million. The first two years of Donovan’s contract are guaranteed for $13.5 million.

Wilson is a former 2019 sixth-round pick by the Cowboys out of Texas A&M. He recorded five sacks, two forced fumbles, and 77 solo tackles in 2022.
