Cowboys star Trevon Diggs involved in strange feud with rapper Cam’Ron
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

News of Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs‘ upcoming baby with influencer Joie Chavis apparently didn’t sit right with some people last week. Diggs saw a lot of negativity about the new member of the family because his girlfriend has two children from prior relationships – a daughter with former rapper-turned-actor Bow Wow, and a son with rapper Future.

Diggs, who is the father of two boys, Aaiden and Chosen, began dating Chavis in 2022. Chavis announced the pregnancy with a post on Instagram last Thursday.

On the It Is What It Is podcast, rappers Cam’Ron and Ma$e discussed the couple, but went so far as to question why Diggs would be in a relationship with someone else’s “leftovers.” The comments led the former league leader in interceptions to speak out on social media.

“I was 5 when you was rapping, ain’t no way you speaking on me rn,” Diggs tweeted, along with: “You like 50 mentioning me on your platform Gomd.”

Cam’Ron and his co-host discussed the topic again in a recording on Sunday night. They definitely saw Diggs’ posts about them, even without mentioning them by name.

“First of all, I was rappin’ before you was born,” the rapper said. “…But the problem is, we’re not rapping up in here. We’re talking about the situation at hand. This has nothing to do with rap.”

“Imagine me growing up saying I want to be like one of yall,” Diggs responded on Monday.

Last summer, before signing his megadeal with Dallas, Diggs completed a major back tattoo. Amid all the artwork on his back was Chavis’s face, which tipped off the media to the seriousness of their relationship.

Trevon Diggs enters year five in the NFL

At 25 years old, Diggs has already established himself as one of the best ball hawks in the league. He led all NFL defenders with 17 interceptions from 2020-22. In 2022, he had a career-high 50 solo tackles and three interceptions. Diggs also took two of his 11 interceptions home for touchdowns.

A second-round pick for the Cowboys out of Alabama, Diggs previously played on a four-year rookie deal for $6.32 million. He’ll try to bounce back in 2024. He lost the title as the team’s interception leader to DaRon Bland who had nine this year, along with five pick-sixes.
