Cowboys should steal Eagles' Pro Bowl playmaker
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys could very well be in the market for a running back this offseason, and they may look to the Philadelphia Eagles for their answer.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder mentions Eagles halfback D’Andre Swift as a free agent that the Cowboys should absolutely consider this offseason.

Holder also names the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers are other potential destinations, but Dallas is certainly an intriguing landing spot.

Swift has enjoyed a breakout campaign in Philadelphia this season, rushing for 1,049 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He also caught 39 passes for 214 and a score. Swift earned his first Pro Bowl selection for his efforts.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He had a decent rookie year, finishing with 521 yards and eight touchdowns while logging 4.6 yards per attempt. He also snared 46 balls for 357 yards and a couple of scores as a receiver.

Swift then posted very similar numbers in 2021, registering 617 yards while reaching the end zone five times as a rusher. He averaged a more pedestrian 4.1 yards per tote, but hauled in 62 receptions for 452 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Philadelphia native then recorded 542 yards and five scores while tallying a robust 5.5 yards per carry in his final year with the Lions, adding 48 catches for 389 yards and three touchdowns.

Last offseason, Detroit traded Swift to Philly.

The Cowboys will take on the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs on Sunday.
