Cowboys DT Neville Gallimore out six to eight weeks with dislocated elbow

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Neville Gallimore will be out six to eight weeks with a dislocated elbow, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.

Gallimore suffered the injury during Friday's 19-16 preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals. While it's not a season-ending injury, the loss of Gallimore is a huge blow to the Dallas defense as he was projected to be a starter this year.

The 24-year-old went down in the first quarter of Friday's game after his arm appeared to get caught in a pile that included teammate Brent Urban on a four-yard run by Chase Edmonds.

Gallimore was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, he recorded 0.5 sacks, 28 tackles, four tackles for a loss and four quarterback hits.

Archer adds that the Cowboys will not speed up the return of Trysten Hill, who is on the physically unable to perform list with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, because of Gallimore's injury.

The Cowboys have Urban, Carlos Watkins and Justin Hamilton on the roster and selected Osa Odighizuwa in the third round and Quinton Bohanna in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.
