Cowboys DT Neville Gallimore gets bad news ahead of Panthers game
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Neville Gallimore got some expected but still bad news ahead of the team's Week 11 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Gallimore was fined $9,754 for an unnecessary roughness foul committed that led to his ejection in Week 10 against the New York Giants. The punishment was a result of the below sequence, where you can see Gallimore throw a kick at Giants OL Justin Pugh's crotch area.

The NFL has been consistently fining players this season, something that has many rightfully criticizing their practices.

But let's face it, fair is fair: Kicking a player like Gallimore did is completely unacceptable and even more so when the play is clearly over.

Now granted, Pugh went in to shove Gallimore when he was already on the ground after hitting QB Tommy DeVito. Perhaps Pugh thought it was a late hit but watching the full replay clearly shows Gallimore was already going to the ground. Even still, he could've reacted much better to Pugh's shove.

Gallimore is set to make $1.5 million this season, per Over The Cap. While it's still a lot of money that he'll be making this year, it's still a significant hit to his pay.

The former third-round draft pick was considered to be on the roster bubble during training camp but he's managed to stick around. Nine games into the Cowboys season, he has played 158 defensive snaps (28%).
