Cole Kmet's Bold Vision: A Potential Brady/Gronk Dynamic with Fields by His Side
Mike Dinovo-USA TODAY Sports

As the Bears head into the season players are getting their summer fun in before training camp. Cole Kmet attended a Kane County Cougars game and was interviewed on the upcoming year.

Kmet talked about his excitement for the season and explained how they have a better. The team now has an understanding of the offense headed into year two and now it is time to grow on it.  When asked if Fields and Kmet could be could the next Brady/Gronk duo, Kmet said," That's what we are shooting for!" While that is a lofty goal The Fields/Kmet combo could see a major increase in its effectiveness this year.

Kmet was one of the pre-Eberflus era Bears players that broke out last year. Kmet finished last year with 50 receptions for 544 yards and 7 touchdowns. The real jump was the 7 touchdowns where he only had a total of 2 in his previous two seasons combined. Kmet was highly underutilized in former head coach Matt Nagy's offense. With current offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, Kmet is getting a lot more looks in the red zone. Kmet's size creates such a creates a big mismatch.

Now with a new fast and threatening WR room headed by DJ Moore, Kmet should see the middle of the field open up for him. Whether it is crossing routes or straight over the top, opposing defenses will not have it easy. The one thing Fields will need is more time to throw. Kmet would be one of the later reads on these types of plays. If the offensive line breaks down Fields will have to tuck and run or throw it away. Darnell Wright will have to mature quickly to have this take effect.

Kmet and Fields have a lot to prove this season with the new revamped offense. If this does work out it could be one of the best QB/TE combinations in the league. If it doesn't a lot of people will be asking if Kmet's time is up with the Bears.
