Cole Kmet Reportedly Finished Season with Broken Forearm

When the Bears finished the season GM Ryan Poles said they had no injuries requiring surgery.

"Not at this time, no, so that's a huge positive," he said. "When you talk about continuity, bringing people back, they're going to come back healthy and ready to go."

This didn't mean they had no one under contract for 2024 come away with the kind of injury that could have been labeled season-ending if there had been more games to play.

Tight end Cole Kmet apparently has a right broken forearm suffered against the Green Bay Packers in the season finale. The Sun-Times' Jason Lieser reported the injury via Twitter.

Kmet seen on radio row at the Super Bowl wearing a cast on his arm when he did an interview with CHGO.

The injury is not supposed to hinder Kmet in offseason preparation when it begins in April and, in fact, it was reported Kmet finished the game playing with the injury. 

He made three receptions for 41 yards and in the second half had his longest reception, a 27-yarder on a day when the Packers had 308 net passing yards to 117 by the Bears.

Kmet received a contract extension last year for four years and $50 million. His deal, averaging $12.5 million, made him the 10th highest-paid tight end in the league according to Spotrac.com.
