Houston-Carson comes in at a fair price, earning $1.77 million on a one-year deal. In an offseason with so many cuts, it is relieving that there is someone salvageable on the roster. Houston-Carson is in his seventh year with Chicago and embodies everything that it means being a Bear. Last season , DeAndre Houston-Carson had 51 tackles, one interception, and two fumble recoveries. These numbers could have been even better if his season wasn’t cut short due to injury.
Houston-Carson was a 6th-round selection in 2016 from William & Mary. In his second season he was bumped down to the practice squad. The Bears promoted him back to the active roster, then returned him on a two-year deal afterwards.
