As if the Carolina Panthers didn't have enough issues along the offensive line, they lost another starter for the season on Wednesday. The team announced that left guard Chandler Zavala has been placed on injured reserve with a knee injury and will not return this season.
The fourth-round pick played in ten games and made seven starts. He had his fair share of struggles in pass protection throughout his rookie campaign but to his defense, he wasn't able to sit and develop like the team had initially planned. He earned the start in the season opener filling in at right guard for the recovering Austin Corbett and then once Brady Christensen was lost for the year, he flipped over to left guard.
To help replenish the o-line depth, the Panthers signed veteran Gabe Jackson on Wednesday and brought back Deonte Brown to the practice squad.
