CBS Sports makes bold prediction for Lamar Jackson in 2023

The Ravens have put the rest of the NFL on notice after surrounding QB Lamar Jackson with the best supporting cast of his career. However, it has also brought much higher expectations for Baltimore in 2023.

CBS Sports believes the 2019 NFL MVP will have the best season of his five-year NFL career thus far and will "throw for at least 4,000 yards" in 2023.

Jackson has never even come close to throwing for 4,000 yards. The closest he has come is during his MVP season when he threw for 3,127 yards.

However, the newly highest-paid quarterback in the league has even higher expectations for himself.

"I want to throw for like 6,000 yards with the weapons we have," Jackson told reporters after signing his contract extension. "I'm not an individual-type of reward guy or a stat watcher, but I just want to do that because no one has ever done it."

The current single-season passing yards record is held by Peyton Manning with 5,477 yards in 2013.

Throwing for 6,000 yards seems like a stretch, even with Jackson's revamped arsenal. But 4,000 yards is certainly obtainable after adding receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers in free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft.

Either way, get your popcorn ready for the 2023 Baltimore Ravens offense.
