CB Keith Taylor Jr. Released by Panthers
USA TODAY Sports

The Carolina Panthers' 2021 draft class is beginning to look rather bare.

Tuesday morning, the team decided to release cornerback Keith Taylor Jr. after just two seasons. They also moved on from wide receiver Shi Smith and offensive lineman Deonte Brown.

The team already parted ways with defensive lineman Daviyon Nixon, long snapper Thomas Fletcher, and defensive lineman Phil Hoskins in the past, leaving just CB Jaycee Horn, WR Terrace Marshall Jr., OL Brady Christensen, TE Tommy Tremble, and RB Chuba Hubbard from that draft haul.

In 34 games with the Panthers, Taylor totaled 67 tackles, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one tackle for loss. The big knock on him coming out of Washington was that he played four years of college ball and never recorded an interception - something he failed to do through two years in Carolina.
