Carolina Panthers agree to terms with Troy Hill

The Carolina Panthers added some experience to their secondary on Sunday, agreeing to terms with former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Troy Hill on Sunday according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

The 31-year-old Hill appeared in and started in 12 games last season for the Rams in his second stint with the organization recording 67 tackles, defending four passes, and securing one interception.

He now becomes the eldest veteran of the Panthers’ secondary, surpassing Donte Jackson, and joins a unit that finished in the bottom half of the league last season in passing yards allowed averaging 227.5 yards per game to opponents.

Hill spent five seasons with the Rams prior to a one-year hiatus with the Cleveland Browns, making him more than familiar with new Panthers’ defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, cornerbacks coach Jonathan Cooley, and the team’s new defensive system as a whole.
