Earlier this year, the Denver Broncos and the Walton-Penner family reached a buy-and-sell agreement to take over the National Football League team.

According to CNBC, the Walton-Penners, led by Walmart heir Rob Walton, made the acquisition of the Broncos from the Pat Bowlen Trust for $4.65 billion, a record for a US sports franchise.

“We are thrilled to be selected to move forward with the purchase of the Denver Broncos! Carrie, Greg, and I are inspired by the opportunity to steward this great organization in a vibrant community full of opportunity and passionate fans,” said the Walton-Penner family Ownership group.

“Having lived and worked in Colorado, we’ve always admired the Broncos. Our enthusiasm has only grown as we’ve learned more about the team, staff, and Broncos Country over the last few months.”

Broncos’ CEO and president Joe Ellis added, “I have enjoyed getting to know Rob Walton, Carrie Walton Penner, and Greg Penner throughout this process. Learning more about their background and vision for the Denver Broncos, I am confident that their leadership and support will help this team achieve great things on and off the field.”

Byron Allen is ‘confident’ he’ll buy the next available NFL Franchise after losing out on the Broncos

American businessman and philanthropist Byron Allen was recently asked about losing out on the Broncos.

“I feel great. Yeah, buying an NFL football team is it’s a process. We had the pleasure of being a part of that process. We didn’t get this one, but I’m highly confident we’ll get the next one,” said Allen.

Allen was asked what team he goes after next, “An NFL team near you, so we’re not picky.”

He also told TMZ Sports, “If you lose to the richest family in the world, it’s not a bad day at the office. I lost to the richest family in the world; what is this world coming to? It’s all good. I don’t have any problems. Let me be clear: here’s the strategy richest family in the world, they’re now out of the way right now clear sailing [and] we’ll get the next one.
