Buccaneers RBs Leonard Fournette, Giovani Bernard, LB Lavonte David return to practice

Stud wide receiver Chris Godwin is out for the entire postseason and enigmatic wideout Antonio Brown was officially dismissed last week, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are slowly getting healthier at other positions.

Bernard, David and Fournette were all placed on injured reserve in December with hip, hamstring and foot ailments, respectively. The Bucs currently have seven players on the injured reserve list.

In his fifth NFL season and second with Tampa Bay, Fournette was perhaps on his way to a career-year stats-wise but missed the final two-plus contests of the campaign. Still, the 26-year-old finished the regular season by leading the team in rushing attempts (180), rushing yards (812) and rushing touchdowns (eight), while adding 69 receptions for 454 yards and two touchdowns through the air on 84 targets.

The 30-year-old Bernard signed with the Buccaneers in April 2021 after he was cut by the Cincinnati Bengals following an eight-season run with the black and orange. In limited action across his 12 games with Tampa Bay this season, Bernard continued his primary role as a passing down back, securing 23 catches for 123 yards and three receiving touchdowns, while adding eight rushes for 58 yards.

David has spent his entire 10-year career with the Bucs, and was limited to fewer than 14 games (12) for the first time. Even so, the former Nebraska Cornhusker finished the year ranked second on the team in tackles (97), while contributing three passes defended, two forced fumbles and 2.0 sacks as well.

Tampa Bay will host the Philadelphia Eagles at 1:00 p.m. ET Sunday in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
