Buccaneers' Jason Pierre-Paul undergoes shoulder surgery

Tampa Bay Buccaneers three-time Pro Bowler Jason Pierre-Paul missed five games during the 2021 regular season, including the final three leading up to the playoffs, due to a shoulder injury. The 33-year-old edge rusher recently addressed the issue in hopes of being ready to roll for the 2022 campaign.

"Pierre-Paul shared a picture of himself in a hospital bed and videos discussing how his shoulder will recover to his Instagram account on Thursday night. In a caption to the picture, Pierre-Paul promised to 'kill s---' when he is back on the field later this year," Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper wrote.

Alper noted that "JPP" is set to be a free agent in March. He just wrapped up his fourth season in Tampa Bay, after he started his NFL career with eight seasons with the New York Giants.

The two-time Super Bowl champion and former first team All-Pro concluded the 2021 season with 31 tackles, five quarterback hits, four passes defended and 2.5 sacks. In the Bucs' two playoff games, he added two tackles, two quarterback hits, one fumble recovery and 0.5 sacks.

In 165 career games, the former first-round pick has recorded 603 tackles, 164 quarterback hits, 91.5 sacks, 61 passes defended and 21 forced fumbles.
