Broncos Teammate Speaks Out On QB Russell Wilson
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has a lot of work to do in 2023 to get him and his team back on track. His first year in Denver was a disaster as he had the least productive season of his career and head coach Nathaniel Hackett was fired after one season on the job.

There is some optimism that Wilson will be able to turn things around under new head coach Sean Payton. However, there is a chance that he has some reconciling to do with his teammates.

Rumors have floated that some of the people around the Broncos’ headquarters aren’t a huge fan of Wilson. He reportedly received different treatment compared to other guys on the team and how he carried himself, rubbing a few people wrong in the locker room.

Alas, that isn’t what one of his new teammates sees at all. Defensive end Zach Allen, who was signed away from the Arizona Cardinals this offseason in free agency, recently shared his opinion about his new quarterback. Allen heaped a ton of praise on Wilson.

“Russ is a superstar and he’s the hardest working guy in the building.”

Hopefully, that level of respect and praise remains where it is. Certain perks come along with being the franchise quarterback, but at the end of the day, he is still one piece of a huge puzzle to get the job done. If his teammates aren’t on the same page as him or not riding with him, things could get ugly quickly.

We saw just how ugly in 2022 when the Broncos fell woefully short of expectations. With upgrades being made up and down the roster this offseason, the franchise is hoping that things will get back on track.

If not, there will be some more major changes on the horizon. 2023 is a bit of a make-or-break year for Wilson as Payton could look to bring in someone else if things don’t improve.
