After recent league news, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is starting to look severely underpaid

This is the time of year when players are going to start resetting markets now. Players at certain positions are going to start making far more money than the guys who are the best because it's been some time since that player was paid. It happens all the time, and even the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a victim of it.

If you look at the quarterbacks that are getting paid the most per year, Mahomes is no longer at the top. Mahomes is now the eighth-highest-paid quarterback in the league, making the same amount of money as Kirk Cousins. If that doesn't tell you he's underpaid, I don't know what will happen when you consider him the best quarterback and player.

Now, the Chiefs have one more player who falls in that same category as a severely underpaid guy.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles have given kicker Jake Elliot a $24 million extension. That means that Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is falling down the list of highest-paid kickers when he is easily one of the best, if not the best. Some would argue Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker is better, but he doesn't have three Super Bowl rings.
