49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk defends QB Trey Lance amid 'arm fatigue' reports, rumors

2021 rookie Trey Lance served as the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers throughout springtime workouts as veteran Jimmy Garoppolo recovered from March shoulder surgery, and Lance allegedly "grew leaps and bounds" in the QB1 role over that time.

However, individuals such as former offensive lineman and current broadcaster and football analyst Ryan Harris, Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd and NFL insider Mike Silver have publicly expressed fears over Lance's "arm fitness" and supposed "arm fatigue" issues.

One teammate used humor to have Lance's back on Tuesday.

As Michael David Smith noted for Pro Football Talk, 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk took to Instagram to share a video showing Lance delivering him three excellent passes during a workout:

Aiyuk's social-media activities alone seemingly won't do much to silence Lance's critics and doubters ahead of training camp. Earlier this week, former pro running back Robert Turbin made it clear during an NFL Network segment that he believes Garoppolo and not Lance gives the 49ers "the best chance to win" for the upcoming season.

As for now, Garoppolo remains attached to the organization even though he continues to be linked with clubs such as the Seattle Seahawks in rumors and reports.
