Why Is This 15-Year NBA Veteran Still A Free Agent?
USA TODAY Sports

George Hill is coming off a year where he played in 46 regular season games for the  Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers

The veteran point guard averaged 5.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 47.0% from the field and 35.8% from the three-point range.

This summer, Hill became a free agent, and he still remains available to sign with any team in the league on October 9.

Hill was initially the 26th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft and has played 15 seasons in the league.

In addition to the Pacers and Bucks, he has also spent time with the San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

His career averages are 10.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest while shooting 45.7% from the field and 38.0% from the three-point range over 915 regular season games.

He has also appeared in an astonishing 144 NBA playoff games and played in the Finals with the Cavs during the 2017-18 season.

Since Hill is a very experienced point guard, he could be an excellent addition to many teams.

The regular season will begin in less than four weeks, so Hill will be a name to watch.

As for the Pacers, they are coming off a year where they were the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 35-47 record.

They missed the NBA playoffs (and play-in tournament) for the second straight season.

That said, the Pacers have a talented roster that is led by Myles Turner and Tyrese Haliburton.
