Watch: Patrick Beverley, George Hill ejected for altercation
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley Nick Wosika-USA TODAY Sports

It took a surprisingly long time, but Patrick Beverley was ejected for the first time this season on Saturday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves guard was tossed along with Milwaukee Bucks counterpart George Hill for an incident during the first quarter of Saturday’s game. Wolves forward Taurean Prince was exchanging words with Bucks big man Serge Ibaka after getting tangled up when Beverley ran in and pushed Ibaka. Hill then pushed Beverley back in retaliation. Moments later, tempers flared again when Beverley started yelling at Ibaka.

Ibaka and Beverley were teammates last season on the LA Clippers, but they clearly do not care for each other any longer. While Beverley and Hill were both ejected though, Ibaka was only given a technical foul.

Milwaukee was playing shorthanded with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined because of a knee injury. The Beverley-Hill trade-off definitely benefited the Bucks though, especially since Beverley is a starter and defensive anchor for Minnesota while Hill is a reserve. But Beverley just can’t get out of his own way lately. He had another similar off-court incident after a recent game.
