Vince Carter gets fitting new job after ESPN exit

Vince Carter is kicking it back to the 2000s.

Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported on Wednesday that the retired eight-time All-Star Carter is joining YES Network as a part-time analyst for the Brooklyn Nets. Carter will reportedly be on the call for a “handful” of Nets games this season (with Sarah Kustok and Richard Jefferson continuing as the primary television analysts for the team).

Carter, 46, played an NBA-record 22 seasons, five of which came with the Nets from 2004-09. After retiring as a player in 2020, Carter joined ESPN, serving as an NBA and college basketball analyst.

Over the summer though, Carter was among the dozens of layoffs that ESPN made to their on-air talent. One of those layoffs has since landed a job as an analyst for the New York Knicks and now Carter will be following suit right across the Brooklyn Bridge with the Nets.
