Taurean Prince fined $15K by NBA for 'obscene gesture'
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Taurean Prince David Berding-USA TODAY Sports

The league has announced that it is penalizing Timberwolves backup power forward Taurean Prince to the tune of $15K for “making an obscene gesture” during the third quarter of the club’s 116-95 victory over the Mavericks.

Prince got into an altercation with Mavericks All-Star guard Luka Doncic, resulting in both players being assessed double-technical fouls, per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

The 6-foot-7 Prince, 28, is averaging 7.2 points and 2.5 rebounds across 16.7 minutes per game in a largely reserve role for an upstart Minnesota club. This marks his first season with the team. A 2022 unrestricted free agent, Prince is in the last year of a two-season, $25.3M deal he signed with the Nets in 2020.
