Suns star Chris Paul breaks silence on testing positive for COVID-19

After testing positive for COVID-19 and missing the first two games of the Western Conference Finals, Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul returned to the court for Thursday's Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Following a tough 106-92 loss to the Clippers, Paul broke his silence about testing positive for COVID-19, and he really didn't have too much to say.

"S--t happens. And it did. I'm here now. It's cool," Paul said on having COVID-19, per a tweet from Marc J. Spears.

Paul reportedly received the COVID-19 vaccine in February, which resulted in a symptom-free experience for the All-Star guard. Under NBA protocols, he had to test negative twice 24 hours apart before being cleared to play.

While Phoenix certainly missed Paul in the first two games of the series, the Suns relied heavily on Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton as they took a 2-0 series lead. Unfortunately, Paul's return to the lineup in Game 3 coincided with a monster night from Paul George, who helped L.A. cut its deficit to just one game.

Paul had a solid first game back, though, scoring 15 points to go along with two rebounds and 12 assists.

Game 4 between the Suns and Clippers is set for Saturday night.
