'Should’ve arrested you for accessory to murder!' Norris Cole recalls iconic LeBron James dunk on Jason Terry during heated Miami vs Boston series

LeBron James was a dominant force during his time in South Beach. Teaming up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh , James had it all to win his first two championships. While in Miami, James and company had one team to look out for in the East. The Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat faced off twice with James being in the picture. The Heat came up victorious in both the series, but the rivalry continued during regular matchups.

In a recent episode of Gilbert Arena’s podcast, Norris Cole, James’ former teammate, described the Lakers star’s poster dunk over Jason Terry. In 2013, during yet another meeting, James delivered, what was considered one of the greatest posters in NBA history. The sequence started after Cole committed a turnover and Wade managed to get a steal from behind. Following that was a transition play for the Heat, as the ball found its way into James’ hands for the flush.

Here is what Cole had to say:

You know, Jet talked trash a lot to Bron... I turned the ball over, so I'm trying to make up for the turnover. So I pressured him, D-Wade did the back tip. We got it back, and so I had a chance to lay it up. One thing when you hear Bron, when he runs, you can hear it... And I heard, I was about to take a dribble, and lay it up, but I heard (James). And I was like, 'Oh I don't even gotta see him.' Norris Cole said

They should've arrested you for accessory to murder. Kenyon Martin replied

“When [LeBron] runs you can hear it… he was running full speed so I knew it was gonna be a freight train… I didn’t think JT was gonna jump I thought he was gonna get out the way.”

This was one of James’ peak career highlights, as the stare following the poster was more vicious than the dunk itself. The same season was quite successful for James, winning his second championship and completing the much-needed redemption over the Jet.

LeBron James exacted revenge on Jason Terry to win his second championship

In 2011, LeBron James and the Heat faced the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals. The Mavs’ squad included Terry as well, playing alongside Dirk Nowitzki. In a hard-fought series, Dallas went on to win their first title and their sixth man, JT tatted a Larry O’Brien trophy on his arm.

This was enough fuel for James to perform at his best in every meeting against Terry. And, almost two years later, the King delivered one of the most historic posters of all time.

Years later, fans still remember the iconic slam. However, it is worth noting that, no one could explain the whole sequence better than Terry. At 39, James continues to put on posters, adding more and more to his collection.
