Rockets HC rips team following crushing loss to Warriors

Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka ripped his team following its 133-110 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.

The defeat dropped Houston to 38-38 with six games remaining in its regular season. Golden State improved to 42-34 with six contests left in the campaign and moved four games ahead of the Rockets for the final spot in the play-in tournament.

Houston has lost three in a row, while the Warriors are riding a season-high six-game winning streak, which is also the longest current run in the NBA.

The result also gives the Dubs a 3-0 season-series sweep of their opponents and essentially gives them an almost insurmountable five-game edge due to the tiebreaker advantage.

According to ESPN's Kendra Andrews, the Rockets would need to either win five of their final six contests and have Golden State lose out or win all six of their remaining tilts with their counterparts losing at least five to make the play-in tournament.

Things are looking bleak for Udoka and Co. after they were the hottest team in the league less than two weeks ago.

After winning its eighth straight on March 23, Houston crept within one game of Golden State. The Rockets ended up winning 11 in a row before their current three-game skid.

Even if the Rockets don't make the play-in tournament, they've been one of the most pleasant surprises in the Association during the 2023-24 campaign.

After going 59-177 over its previous three seasons under Stephen Silas, Houston hired Udoka last April after his tumultuous exit from the Boston Celtics.
