Isaiah Thomas has committed to playing for USA Basketball in February's FIBA AmeriCup qualifying tournament, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Great opportunity for Thomas to make a case for a return to the league after offseason procedure on his hip.

Thomas last played in the NBA during the 2019-20 season for the Washington Wizards. He was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers ahead of the trade deadline and waived. The 31-year-old has been dealing with a hip injury for a long time, but still managed to average 12.1 points per game with Washington. He's hoping for a return to the NBA.
Seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson is also planning to play for Team USA, according to Wojnarowski. The 39-year-old last played in the NBA during the 2017-18 season for the Houston Rockets.
Expect to see Johnson in the Carmelo Anthony-type 4-man role for Team USA. (@SekouSmithNBA would’ve been front row for the Iso Joe return).
