Report: Celtics big man was throwing up during Game 7 vs. Heat

Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams was battling a serious stomach bug throughout Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat. According to multiple reports, Williams was "throwing up" during the contest and at one point was "doubled over" in the TD Garden hallway in apparent "serious discomfort."

The "Time Lord" contributed eight points and six rebounds in his 14 minutes on the floor. The Celtics dropped Game 7 at home, 103-84, missing out on becoming the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-0 playoff series deficit.

Williams averaged 8.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 23.5 minutes across 35 regular-season games (20 starts). He played in all 20 of Boston's postseason games (earning four starts) and averaged 7.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 20.9 minutes while splitting time at center with Al Horford.

The 25-year-old Williams entered last year's Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 against the Heat (exactly one year before Monday's loss) with an injured knee but suited up. He recorded just two points and three rebounds in 14 minutes in that game, but Boston won to advance to their first NBA Finals in 12 years.

The news of Williams' health comes on top of star forward Jayson Tatum's ankle injury that he suffered on the team's first offensive possession on Monday. While Tatum finished the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds, it was less than half of his 31 points in Game 6 and he was clearly limited.

Jaylen Brown scored a team-high 19 points in Game 7, but it came on an abysmal 8-for-23 shooting (1-for-9 on three-pointers) and he committed over half of the team's 15 turnovers with eight, setting an unfortunate record in the process.
