Raptors trade Goran Dragic, draft pick to Spurs for Thaddeus Young, Drew Eubanks, draft pick

The San Antonio Spurs were among the handful of teams involved in the flurry of action on NBA trade deadline day on Thursday. Just one day following their three-team deal with the Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz, the Spurs were busy again just hours before the deadline.

Per ESPN's Tim Bontemps, San Antonio has sent power forward Thaddeus Young, big man Drew Eubanks and a 2022 second-round pick (via the Detroit Pistons) to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Goran Dragic and a protected 2022 first-round pick. The first-round pick is protected from 1-14 this year, and 1-13 in 2023, but if it doesn't convey either season, it becomes a pair of second-round picks.

According to Bontemps, Dragic and Young are both on expiring contracts, while Eubanks has one more year remaining on his current deal. Dragic is expected to be bought out by the Spurs, according to ESPN.

A 2018 All-Star with the Miami Heat, Dragic is in his 14th NBA season, but has been limited to just five games thus far and hasn't played since November due to personal reasons. Young is in his 15th season and first with the Spurs, and is currently posting 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 14.2 minutes per game in 26 contests.

Eubanks debuted in the 2018-2019 season and has played for only San Antonio. He has career averages of 4.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 11.7 minutes per game in 148 contests (15 starts).
