Raptors Share Latest on Scottie Barnes & Jakob Poeltl

The Toronto Raptors won’t rule out a Scottie Barnes return.

Surgery on Monday to help heal the fracture in his left hand has certainly stacked the odds against a Barnes return this season, but Toronto is still holding out hope.

“I think it's too early to say, at this point,” Raptors coach Darko Rajaković said. “Obviously everybody would like him to be able to come back and finish the season. I know that he's eager to come back and play. But we just don't have enough information at this time so we can plan anything like that.”

As for Jakob Poeltl, the 7-foot Austrian is having a specialist examine his dislocated left pinky finger. He injured the finger in the first half Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets. Initial X-rays came back negative for a fracture.

Toronto may be shorthanded Tuesday night, but the bench will be full will certainly be full. The Raptors will have Jahmi'us Ramsey ready to go after the 22-year-old inked a 10-day contract Tuesday morning.

“I know that he can shoot the ball. I know that he did a really good job in the G League, averaging some impressive numbers coming off the bench,” Rajaković said. “We were able to see him a little bit in our playgroups as well. And I can confirm he did not miss a shot this morning.”

Ramsey was averaging 20.6 points per game while shooting 40.6% from three-point range with the Oklahoma City Blues in the G League this season.
