Raptors News: Pizza Parties, Poeltl's Ankle, & Jersey Swaps
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The pizza party is on hold.

It’ll be at least one more day before the Toronto Raptors get together for their much-anticipated team dinner head coach Darko Rajaković promised the team if they won three consecutive games this season. While Rajaković told the team he’d prefer to do something fancier than pizza, but it seems his team disagrees.

Gradey Dick took to Instagram on Tuesday night and shared a post with three pizza emojis. Immanuel Quickley’s latest Instagram post is captioned “I believe I was promised Pizza.”

Whatever the party is, it’s expected to be following practice Thursday night, Raptors guard Ochai Agbaji said Wednesday following shootaround.

Poeltl Practicing

Jakob Poeltl is still listed as questionable for Wednesday night, but it looks like he’s avoided serious injury following a left ankle sprain on Monday night.

The 7-foot Austrian was seen taking part in shootaround without a brace on his foot and appeared to be moving without any issues.

The fact that the Raptors haven’t called up Jontay Porter, Toronto’s third-string center, from the G League, suggests Poeltl isn’t likely to miss much, if any time with the injury.

Temple Jersey Swap

Garrett Temple will have a new jersey number Wednesday night, having swapped in No. 14 to No. 17. The number was previously owned by Dennis Schröder who was signed by Toronto before Temple’s arrival.

Temple has worn No. 17 with seven different teams over his career.

He’s the second Raptors player to swap his jersey mid-season. Bruce Brown Jr. bought No. 11 from Porter upon his arrival in Toronto.
