Patrick Beverley asks to be on the team that practices against Team USA: "I'mma have that practice turned up"

Milwaukee Bucks guard Pat Beverley is a fiery dude, capable of heightening the intensity of games and practices with his constant chirping and pesky defense. The veteran guard, playing in his 12th season in the NBA, knows what's at stake for the USA men's national basketball team this summer in the Paris Olympics and would like to do his part in helping the team become as sharp as possible, heading to the tournament.

Looking for a fifth straight gold medal

Team USA is seeking to win a fifth straight gold medal in the Olympics' men's basketball tournament. The team's management, led by Grant Hill, has already announced a 41-man pool led by a who's-who of the NBA, such as LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant.

On his podcast, Beverley proposed that he be placed on the squad that would practice against the Olympic-bound Team USA squad.

"Man, I know Team USA is about to be crazy this summer. Just let me be on the team they practice against 'cause I'mma have that practice turned the f**k up. I'm picking moth****** up 94 feet, I'm talking sh**, I'm getting a bucket on you, 'oh he's a bum, you shouldn't be on the fu**** USA team,'" Beverley shared.

Morale-booster

Although Team USA has been successful in the Olympics, they were given a piece of humble pie at the FIBA World Cup last year in Manila, Philippines. The team placed fourth in the tournament that Germany won. With that in mind, Beverley knows Team USA needs to bounce back and reclaim their dominance in international basketball. One way to sharpen them up is to give them hell in practice—something Beverley says he can do.

"That's gonna boost the morale of the fu**** team. Unless you make the game ultra-competitive, bring a group of moth******* in there who ain't All-Stars, a bunch of underdog moth******s and play them, the game would be way different," Beverley added.
