Nik Stauskas Has Landed Back In The NBA

It sounds like the Boston Celtics have found a new player to help their playoff chances: Nik Stauskas.

Earlier this week, there was a lot of speculation that Stauskas would be returning to the NBA because of a very strong showing he had recently in the G League.

The veteran guard, who first entered the league back in 2014, put up a combined 100 points over two nights in back-to-back games with the Grand Rapids Gold.

This led many to think some sort of deal with an NBA team was on the horizon.

Nik Stauskas is signing a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Stauskas had an historic week, scoring 100 points on 57 and 43 point performances in back-to-back games for Grand Rapids.

Now comes word that the Celtics have signed Stauskas to a two-year deal with the team.

The Celtics aren’t expecting Stauskas to put up 100 points every few nights but they are hopeful he can help bolster their chances of making the Finals.

Boston Going Big

The Celtics are surging right now, sitting at fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 38-27.

Even though they are several spots from the top of the standings, they are only 4.5 games behind the number one seed Miami Heat.

As the team continues to improve, their chances of a great postseason only get larger and larger.

Stauskas may be a huge part of that.

He hasn’t played an NBA game since the 2018-19 season when he played for both Portland and Cleveland.

Throughout this career, the guard averaged 6.8 points with 19.8 minutes-per-game.

The hope is that Stauskas will greatly help the Celtics improve their shooting even more and space the floor.

Boston will need all the help they can get because they will have to surpass some incredibly tough teams like the Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Chicago Bulls if they wish to rival the Heat.
