New York Knicks Make NBA History vs. Toronto Raptors
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks put together one of the best offensive displays in NBA history on Wednesday night against the Toronto Raptors. They destroyed the undermanned Raptors, winning 145-101 in one of the most lopsided games in recent history.

It was the largest home loss in Raptors’ franchise history, beating the 41-point loss they suffered earlier this month against the New Orleans Pelicans. It was the most points scored in regulation by a Knicks team since 1980, as they got off to a hot start and never cooled down.

Overall, the Knicks made 58.5 percent of their shots as six different players scored in double-figures. New York knocked down 50 percent of their 3-point attempts as well, with four different players making multiple shots from long range.

The blowout victory wasn’t the only NBA history that was made in the game. The Knicks red-hot 3-point shooting also led to them accomplishing something that has never been done. Miles McBride had some individual history, knocking down six 3-pointers in the first quarter, tying the franchise mark for makes in a quarter.

McBride became the third Knicks player to make 9+ 3-pointers in a game this season, joining Donte DiVincenzo and Jalen Brunson. According to OptaSTATS on X, that makes them the first trio to have three different players make 9+ 3-pointers in a game in the same season.

In addition to that, the Knicks became the first team to have two players do it in consecutive games. DiVincenzo set the franchise record on Monday against the Detroit Pistons knocking down 11 before McBride went on his tear on Wednesday.

Offensive explosions like that aren’t going to happen all the time, but it shows just how dangerous the Knicks are. They have several players that can beat you from the perimeter, as it is a total team effort when they are playing.
